Metal (including steel and aluminum) usage in construction framing is increasing more than any other building product out there. Steel studs, steel roofing and steel walls are all manufactured on rollformers. Rollforming is a process by which a flat coil of steel is fed through rolls and formed to make a finished product. Sometimes holes are punched, depending on what the rollform part is.

The Purlin Master Rollformer

Today's equipment and tooling offers a rapid change roll former for steel purlin allowing the operator to select a flange height change in Minutes (not hours) --- and also a web width change in an infinite range from 4” up to 16”. Our equipment is made to produce purlin in pre-painted, in Galvanized and also the growing use of Hot Rolled “Black” steel --- all in 55 KSI minimum yield strength quality. Every line can be loaded with coil entry equipment, including uncoilers, as well as a wide range of hole punching systems (Samco Punch Anywhere™ Press System) for inline web and flange hole placement with high accuracy.
